LAND TENURE AND RURAL DEVELOPMENT IN PAKISTAN

I. OBJECTIVES
The objectives of this paper are:
- to describe the various forms of land tenure in Pakistan
and to analyze the problems arising from them;
- to determine the impact of recent technological changes
on the land tenure situation;
- to assess the likely impact of the Land Reform Regulation
of 1972;
- to assess the effects of present land tenure systems
on rural development, i.e. production, welfare and the Integrated
Rural Development Programme (IRD?).
